Eric Clapton

C1 didn’t know who Eric Clapton was, so I though I’d do a post introducing who he is, and let you sample some of my favourite songs of his:

He is the only person to be inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame 3 times for being a member of: Yardbirds, Cream and his solo career.

He is an outstanding guitarist, being rated #4 in the Rolling Stone’s “100 greatest guitarists of all time” and #53 in their “Immortals: 100 greatest artists of all time”. For more, check out the wiki article on Eric Clapton.

“was in my lecture, its 150 people, so a big lecture hall. I notice down the front that there is someone standing at the front signing everything the lecturer is saying, because obivously there is a deaf person in the audience. So I yell out “Wicked Sick DJ!” as I mock a DJ with my hands. I pissed myself laughing. Everyone in my row laughed, everyone else kinda went “oh… that’s not right”.

Burning the candle at both ends

God I haven’t done a decent post in forever. So here is a one of my massive ranting posts where I go on and on and on and feel like I’ve contributed something meaningful to the web.

Rugby
I’ve started playing rugby of my own accord. I have gone to training and survived. It was a fitness training session so I’m still a bit sore even 2 days later. I’m on my way to joining up officially with the club, and its all thanks to the help of one of my old school mates, and author of “The Train” (formely known as the G-train).

New Years Resolutions
I’ve been achieving some of my new years resolutions. I’m catching up with some old friends I had previous lost contact with, I’ve managed to loose some weight (rugby should help more), and I’ve managed to save some money. Woo.

Real Guitar Hero
I’m having a crack at teaching myself to play the guitar. I’ve been an avid fan of guitar hero, god I even mentioned it in my very first post, so now I’m trying the real thing. I’m worried about how difficult it will be, and I know that I often start things and never really see them through (um, boba fett concept artwork anyone?)

I want to punch slow walking people in the back of the head
Talk about your apt facebook groups, this is one of my favorites of all time. I work in the city, and constantly have to deal with chaotic and stupid foot traffic. I’m a large guy, and noone really crosses my path, but still people are so stupid sometimes. I think there should be some simple rules when walking down a busy city footpath;

  • Stay to your left, we drive on the left…you walk on the left.
  • If your gonna stop, move to side….don’t stand there like a moron.
  • If your walking slow, move to the side and let people who are in a rush get by
  • Don’t walk in a flat line! I don’t give a fuck that your all friends, if your not searching for a misssing kid in the bush then don’t walk in a flat line.
  • If you are walking on the wrong side, or have to, don’t get in the crowds way. Or better yet, get on the right side.

I’m also adding a bonus topic, rules for travelling on an escalator;

  • Stand to ONE SIDE!
  • Preferably the Left side!
  • Allow people to get around you lazy people that aren’t in a hurry.

Karaoke
I had a go of karaoke the other night. Fun fact, the word Karaoke means “empty orchestra “.

Dancing
I suck at dancing. I have a serious case of white boy can’t dance fever. Its kinda like Cowbell fever, except that it has nothing to do with cowbell and Christopher Walken can dance (see “Weapon of Choice” below);

anyway, what the hell am I going on about? I went out dancing the other night, but firstly I have to say that I require I lot to drink before I attempt to dance. I need enough to make me forget that I can’t dance, and that I’m just having a good time. I’m told its quite entertaining to watch. Also, when looking for the above YouTube clip, I somehow stumbled onto a collection of the “Top 30 Music Videos of all time” of which, “Weapon of Choice” was #4! woo.

Two songs I knew came on (which I had to try and bustamove to); “ABC” by Jackson 5 and “Poison” by Bela Div Devoe. Both of which I only know from comedy movies/tv shows

damn, I wanted to have more to say. I’m so tired from going out, working, or doing something that requires me to wake up early. Though I can function on a lack of sleep, its not great and I prefer to sleep in whenever possible.
