Happy Halloween everyone!

Now being half American I was brought up to celebrate Halloween. Carving jack-o-laterns, candy and trick or treating. Sure its not really massive in Australia, but some people gave us candy. There was a rich dude that drove a porche in our block that gave us gold coins ($1 and $2, whatever was in his car). Score!

Well I talked it up and up and didn’t get an offer for an interview.

It sucks.

I was so keen and happy and excited, and now this.

I called them up and found out that I was unsuccessful and they said that I can apply for feedback on the interview if I wish (which I will do).

It’s hard to think that I got so close, and they rejected me, from what I feel is, on how I come across as a person. That was the last thing I would have assumed to have a problem with. Infact, I’ve always said getting to the interview would be my hardest part, never the interview itself. I actually thought I went alright with the interview.

Basically I had all these cool things to look forward to; starting med school and becoming a doctor, a new sony laptop, a trip to Fiji with my family for xmas, and enjoying the remainder of the summer at the beach.

Now I don’t get to look forward to any of that. Rather I get to continue working full time and saving money. Hurray. Just what I wanted.

I have received a lot of sympathy (and the occasional outright anger) that I was unsuccessful. But I will try again next year. Improve my GAMSAT mark, which could have been a negative factor.

I’ll find out what the feedback is.

Normally I would try and do the above, not whine about such a failing, but seeing as how I made it very public about my desire and (over) confidence about this matter I felt it required some response on my part.
